After a reschedule due to rainy weather, my time with the Douthett family was marked by beautiful blue skies and full sun on a midwest spring evening. I’ve truly grown to love and appreciate shooting in direct sunlight as it really caters to deep, rich colors in my editing style.
Though we’ve probably all heard the saying that “overcast days provide better light for photos” (sometimes that can be true), full sun is really nothing to fear. In fact, I shoot probably 75% of my sessions at times of day that others may consider “less than optimal” for lighting. I’ve leaned into the challenge and really love the way I can play with light & shadows during mid-morning and late afternoon sunlight.
This session is the perfect example of what happens when you trust me to capture your family connection no matter what time of day.
