This motherhood session was so unbelievably tender. When I arrived at Emily’s cabin, I knew it was going to be such an intimate season of life to document for her and her daughter Eden.
We began our time with a sink bath for Eden. I loved the way the soft light filtered through the window behind the sink and it was my goal to capture so many details – the baby rolls, the drops of water on skin, and the way Emily has probably gone through these very motions a hundred times but each time is still so sweet.
From there we let eden roam diaper free while also capturing so many mother/daughter snuggles. For this kind of session, documenting a nursing journey felt like a must and I’m always left in awe of the way God designed women’s bodies to nourish their babies in harmony.
Wrapping up this session outdoors felt right. I can’t help but think these photos look like they were taken no where near Northeast Indiana, yet also right in the heart of Indiana if that makes any sense at all?
When I got home and started to cull through the images from this session, I knew right away that this was one for the books – not contrived, so simple, and absolutely beautiful through and through.
